A lovely blog from my team member Laura. . .
"The day began in a most unusual way — not with the expected calm arrival at a venue, but with a winding drive through a golf course. I drove cautiously past bunkers and fairways, and golfers mid-swing. All eyes stayed alert — not just for a sign to the ceremony but for rogue golf balls that might come slicing through the breeze!
Despite a brisk wind potentially ruffling hairdos and tugging at dresses, the skies were a brilliant blue — the kind that promises sunshine and something magical. The venue, Skylark Golf and Country Club, sat among the rolling greens, with panoramic views across the lush fairways and sweeping countryside.
Inside, the reception area had been transformed, ready for a fun-filled party after the ceremony. A BBQ was set to fire up once the vows were sealed, and the party setup was already turning heads: a retro sweet trolley spilling with nostalgic treats, a games table for those not keen on dancing, a selfie corner complete with props for guests to strike their best poses, and custom table names named after the couple’s favourite cocktails — from “Espresso Martini” to “Margarita Mischief.” And for dessert? Not one, but many cakes — tiered, tray-baked, frosted, and filled.
But what would a wedding be without a touch of drama? With two brides, we were bound to start a little later than expected! From my position at the front of the ceremony space, I could see the sleek, classic convertible winding its way across the course, bringing first Georgia to the ceremony, but it still had to go back and get Sophie! Their guests were very patient, and the ceremony was worth the wait!
Then came the processional — two bridal parties, two distinct energies. First, Georgia came down the aisle on her father’s arm, with the bridal party in serene sage. Then Sophie joined us with her father and bridal party in elegant navy. Both sets were radiant, the music changed between entrances, setting the tone for individuality within unity.

After I shared the couple’s love story with their guests, we moved on to the exchange of Vows. In a perfectly "them" moment, the brides decided who would speak first with a game of paper, scissors, stone — it took a few tries (nerves, laughter, ties), but finally, a winner, well, loser really, as the couple had decided whoever lost would go first! The crowd erupted in warm applause and enjoyed both brides' promises and reflections on their love for one another.

Grandad Ken, beaming with pride and a sparkle in his eye, brought down the rings — a duty he performed with gentle reverence and a whisper of emotion that touched every heart watching.
The Bride’s mothers performed a beautiful handfasting ceremony, tying a custom cord woven with Navy, Sage and Cream, whilst I said a Hand Blessing. Handfasting is a ritual which symbolizes a couple’s union, commitment, and represents both families joining together too. It was quiet, heartfelt, and sacred.
After the ceremony, the confetti moment was almost cinematic — wind catching the petals in bursts of colour as the gorgeous classic car waited once more behind the guests. The brides, grinning and windswept, posed beside it while laughter and cheers rang out.
The last I saw of the two brides was as they hopped aboard a golf buggy and zipped down to the lake, nestled deep in the golf course, to have some quiet time to themselves and capture some fabulous photos, before returning to their guests for the party of a lifetime.
A little chaos, a lot of charm, and a whole lot of love — it was the perfect day, and I wish Sophie and Georgia a most wonderful life together.
