Sunny Outdoor Wedding at the Guildford Manor Hotel

My couple were such fun, really lovely people, and with a family that meant the World to them.

Their ceremony was to be a beautifully simple celebration of what their lives together mean, and how important family is to them both.

We created a fabulous ceremony full of wonderful moments, and quite frankly, I couldn't wait to help these two celebrate on the day!  The months of planning and hard work paid off, and when I arrived, the skies were blue, the sun warm, and the setting looked absolutely stunning.  I work in many outdoor spaces, and this one is particularly wonderful!

After settling in and checking that everything was ready for the start of their ceremony, I headed up to see the bride, and we ran through the last-minute details and settled everyone's nerves.  I got to have a lovely moment with the bride's mum downstairs, making sure she was ok, and sharing hugs to bring a sense of calm.  The anticipation was starting to build, and as guests arrived, the excitement levels reached fever pitch!

Everyone was ready to help these two get wed, and so as we started to usher everyone into the gorgeous setting, it was time to deliver my opening address.  There were beaming faces all around, and having restructured the chairs into gentle arcs facing us at the front, it felt like a big warm hug with everyone wrapped around us.

The wedding party arrived and were hidden at the top of the aisle and as the music played and the guests took to their feet, I gave the groom the nod to turn around and enjoy the procession.  The bridesmaids and flower girls all looked amazing, and were all such lovely people.  Then the bride and her brother Adam came into view, and the groom became very emotional.  The nerves turned to pride, and they were clearly very happy to be reunited at the front of the ceremony.

I welcomed everyone, thanked the wedding party, and gave a special mention to Adam, who stepped up gallantly into the role of accompanying the bride down the aisle as their father had been too poorly to travel there to be with them.  I made sure to acknowledge him also, and spoke of how he would be in our thoughts throughout the day despite his sad absence.

The couple has a beautiful blended family, which they have added to with the arrival of a new baby, born in the Spring this year.  It was a lovely opportunity to speak about how much they all mean to the couple, and how this family is stronger together, and how the newest arrival will value each of them as she grows.

In the middle of the ceremony and just before the couple's vows, I shared a poem that was written all about family, the laughter they share, and the love they have for one another.  As they made their promises to one another, everyone was emotional, and I could see many a tear being shed.  With rings then exchanged to the couple signed their wedding day certificate, along with one of their children (the others would add to this in a private moment later on), and we were ready to present them back to their guests and to walk down the aisle.

It wasn't a regular recession, though, as the couple had two confetti moments!  The first was as they walked the length of the aisle, and a second, having come halfway back down for a posed moment.  It was amazing, and everyone loved being involved!

As guests then all mingled before heading to the reception drinks, it was so lovely to hear the excited chatter amongst them, the congratulations being shared ot the couple, and the laughter coming from groups on the lawns.  What a beautiful celebration for two incredible people.

Congrats, Katie and Tom, and may you all have the very best adventures together!

Much love, Jenny x
