Autumnal Celebration at Millbridge Court

It was back in Spring 2020 that my couple first reached out and we began discussions about their wedding plans. Of course, the Pandemic had just hit, and they were looking at postponement options and went on to face several challenges and a long wait until they could finally have their special day.

This weekend just gone, saw them able to gather with their loved ones, and have the day that they had waited so long for, and wow was it a gorgeous one!

When I arrived, the reception space was a hive of activity, with gorgeous 'trees' forming decorations for the wedding breakfast tables and family and suppliers setting out the last few details to complete the look. It was sensational!   After checking in with the fab venue team, the photographers, and the videographer, we met with the groom and his best men and ran through the details for the entry and initial part of the ceremony.

Having had a run at the venue, the couple was already reassured knowing that we had everything in hand, but I find that it is a lovely way to assure them further that they can relax and leave it all to us now that the day was here.

The ceremony space was gorgeous, with natural daylight pouring in through the statement windows at this venue, and large trees at the front framing the space. They had some lovely balloons hung to bring a sense of cosiness to a lovely vaulted ceiling, and the room felt very elegant indeed. They chose to update their initial colour way with subtle burgundy accents to tone in with their new Autumnal date, and it perfectly complemented the greens and champagne scheme.

I was so excited for these two as they had waited so long, and it had all come together beautifully. When I checked in with the bride and her friends and family, we ran through a few key details, and I could see that they too were excited about what lay ahead of them. As we seated guests and awaited the cue to welcome the procession, the room was full of smiling faces, and their guests all anxious to see the bride.

With music courtesy of the fabulous string quartet, the guests all took to their feet and turned around to catch the first glimpse of the wedding party and what an entourage it was! With flower girls, page boy, mother of the bride and bridesmaids, and Maid of Honour, it certainly built a sense of excitement and as the bride and her father came into view, I could see just how much the groom was keen to be reunited with his special lady. It is always a special moment to observe and I loved seeing how much this meant to them both.

As we seated everyone and the couple moved into their positions facing their guests, we immediately set the tone for their ceremony, with involvement from everyone, and a lovely reading by the groom's dad. I could see everyone's faces, and they were all engaged with what was happening.

We were accompanied by the voices of the children in the wedding party, and visits from the couple's children which made it very personal indeed, and as details of their love story unfolded, the room filled with laughter and lots of supportive cheers too!

For the couple's second reading we decided to do things a little bit differently which went down a storm, and I loved seeing their guest's faces at this poignant moment in the celebration! After the reading, we enjoyed the couple's own vows and watched as they exchanged rings with the help of the two best men. The couple also now have a family certificate which they will complete with their children (who will make fingerprint marks alongside their parent's signatures).

confetti

As the couple finally got to celebrate with a kiss and as I concluded the ceremony, the first handful of confetti went up before I had even finished the couple's surname, which showed just how much their guests were ready to party!

We had lots of lovely messages of thanks afterwards and left everyone celebrating in style with drinks out on the terrace under the unforecast blue skies! What an incredible day for a truly inspiring couple. I wish them both (and their family) the most amazing future together!
